Abstract

Current network observability discovery and design of network monitoring tools for a network operator is often dependent upon the analysis of a network configuration and anecdotal input from the operator indicating their perceived service-level assurance needs. Specifically, the placement of monitoring agents within a network for such designs is fairly subjective and may not be reflective of the actual usage patterns and utilization of the network for traffic initiated by end-users or applications. This proposal leverages actual network behavior in order to generate recommendations for agent placement, as well as to optimize agent placement and, optionally, to auto-deploy an agent and participate the agent in relevant synthetic digital experience tests.
